Sea Pines Golf Course has recently become a prominent addition to the Hua Hin golfing landscape, distinguishing itself as the sole course with holes situated directly alongside the beach. We recommend this course, known for its good condition and top-notch facilities.

Nestled virtually on the beachfront, Sea Pines Golf Course boasts a breathtaking location, with particularly memorable finishing holes positioned right beside the beach. The course is divided into two sections, featuring holes on either side of the railway track, providing a variety of challenges suitable for both low and high handicappers.

The prevailing winds significantly impact the gameplay, making it challenging when they pick up. Despite its proximity to the beach, the course maintains a relatively flat terrain with minimal elevation changes. To compensate for this, the designers have strategically incorporated numerous water hazards, ensuring that water comes into play on all but two holes on each nine.

While the initial two holes are relatively straightforward, the excitement heightens on the third tee box, a par-5 with a water carry off the tee and a hazard along the left side. The 4th presents another dog-leg, requiring strategic play to avoid ending up in the trees. The 7th poses another challenge with a tricky dog-leg and a substantial bunker guarding the direct route to the fairway. The 9th, shaped like a banana, offers options for big hitters to clear the water, but playing it safe brings the challenge of avoiding a bunker on the far side of the fairway.

The back nine at Sea Pines Golf Course introduces the most memorable holes, with the par-5 12th featuring a difficult dogleg, water along one side, and strategically placed fairway bunkers. The final three holes, situated beside the beach, are considered signature holes. The par-5 16th requires a drive to the left to avoid water on the right, and precise positioning is crucial for the challenging approach over water and bunker to the sloping green. The seemingly innocuous par-3 17th requires playing over water to a green well-guarded by bunkers, making club selection a challenge in windy conditions.

The ultimate challenge comes with the par-4 18th, featuring a lengthy carry over a canal to the fairway. Shorter hitters may opt to lay up and approach the green with a longer club. Post-game relaxation and discussions can be enjoyed at the restaurant with a terrace overlooking the sea. It’s worth noting that the course, managed by the Thai Army, may not provide as slick a service as some other courses in the area.
