Koh Chang

The Koh Chang archipelago, encompassing Koh Mak and Koh Kood, represents Thailand's easternmost islands.

While not exactly hidden, they lack the mainstream recognition of destinations like Phuket. From lush jungle-clad peaks to expansive bays, cascading waterfalls to vibrant coral reefs, and rustic beach huts to upscale resorts,

Koh Chang caters to diverse preferences. It is nestled within the Mu Ko Chang National Park, maintaining its remote and rugged allure despite increased development and tourism.

Covering around 212 square kilometers, Koh Chang boasts rainforests, mountains, and beaches, with the towering Khao Salak Phet reaching 743 meters in height.

The island experiences three primary seasons:
- The cool season spans November to February, featuring daily sunshine, clear skies, and tranquil seas, making it the peak tourist season. Temperatures average between 27°C and 30°C, occasionally punctuated by refreshing thunderstorms.
- The hot season follows from March to April, with temperatures often exceeding 33°C and high humidity, leading to discomfort. April and May coincide with Thai holidays, notably Songkran (Thai New Year) from April 13th to 15th, attracting crowds to tourist areas.
- The rainy season commences around late May, continuing until October.

Despite unpredictable weather, this period offers tranquility, lower prices, and lush green rainforests teeming with life, making it an appealing time to explore the island.
